Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Strawberry banana smoothie recipes can be used as an after school treat, warm afternoon treat or suitable for a breakfast on the go. 

I generally freeze bananas that I can purchase at discount or those left over that are beginning to turn brown. 

This is such a versatile recipe!  You can add vegetables, nuts, seeds or protein powder and ice or just serve as the recipe states.  This really is more of a milkshake with nutrition!

I like to make sure that there is some form of protein in my smoothies or my blood sugar will crash.  If you serve a hard boiled egg or two with this smoothie, you can leave the raw egg yolk out. 

Ingredients:

  • 1 can coconut, almond or raw milk
  • 1 banana, frozen and peeled
  • 6 large frozen strawberries
  • 2 organic, pastured egg yolks (or organic pasteurized)
  • water to thin

Directions:

Blend and enjoy!
