I am really enjoying your website.

I like my veggies, but find I eat more of them if I juice instead of eat outright.

Is juicing recommended?

Thank you for your question!

While juicing is promoted as a healthy alternative to vegetable intake, there are some points you want to consider:

How is your blood sugar regulation currently? Juicing spikes blood glucose fairly rapidly because you have isolated the sugars from the fibers. This is why it's easier for you to obtain a higher veggie content but you're missing that valuable glocose slowing fiber. If you have a meal along with your juice, this can slow the glucose entry. If you're currently in a weight loss phase, I don't recommend it. However, I will juice here and there but always after some form of exercise as well, with a meal. Juicing has shown to be therapeutic for those suffering malnutrition ie: cancer patients.

Rather than juicing if you're in a weight loss stage ora re concerned about the rapid glucose response, you might consider a "greens powder" to add to water daily.

There really is no set allotment for vegetables and frequently I might even just choose 1/2 avocado and a couple of tbs. of sauerkraut with my dinner if I'm in a lazy mode.

I hope I've answered your question sufficiently!

In good health!
