Thank you so much for creating this website! I've been on a weight-loss plateau for months now, but today you have motivated me to get back on track once again!

I do have one quick question, however. I didn't see anything on your list about peanuts or peanut butters in general. Are they ok to eat? I love my peanut butter, ha ha.

Hi Emily!

I'm so glad you have made yourself comfortable here! I love to share what I learn through my studies and the latest research regarding nutrition, weight loss and good health.

I'm not a big fan of peanuts or peanut butter for weight loss or promotion of health for a few reasons.

One, I feel like it's very addictive and this is based on my experience with clients.

The peanut plant is susceptible to the mold Aspergillus flavus which produces a carcinogenic mycotoxic substance called aflatoxin.

It is also not a desirable fat for the arteries. In some studies, this fat created atherosclerotic lesions.

I say to use this food with caution and as a treat rather than a protein source. You'll find some of this information under the "nuts section" of the phases.
