Good foods to calm my gut?

by Barb

Hi there Misty! I just got back from my colonoscopy, I am officially 2 years colon cancer free!

I have prepared organic bone broth with diced chicken, and home made fresh yogurt to eat today.

I'd like to know if you have any other specific ideas to "start fresh" with my gut so to speak.

I'm going to start some fermented veggies today with my home made whey, and eat no grains or sugar of course. I'd love your ideas to help calm my achy gut! :o) Thanks in advance.

I'm not perfect, but I have followed your Phase 1 (w/yogurt) about 95% of the time since starting my recovery a year and a half ago, and my Gastro Doc says my gut is beautiful! He doesn't know I don't follow his advice of "plenty of whole grains and raw veggies" haha.

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing all of your knowledge, I've learned so much from you over the years on my journey to health.

Hi Barb!
Congratulations on your clean bill of health! I'm so excited for you.

A couple of recommendations to top the good dietary habits you've already implemented would include high butter fermented cod liver oil, bone broth daily, kefir, kombucha and most definitely L-Glutamine at 2000-4000mg daily. I think for you Barbara a Bifida Bacteria probiotic supplement is a good idea which you can find at my Amazon link at the top of the home page. Flora* has a nice multi strain with 108 billion cultures. Studies show those with the lowest bifida bacteria count are at highest risk for colon cancer.

Do keep your fiber high with plenty of veggies, a few nuts and seeds and a bit of seasonal fruit.

The achy gut could take some time to heal so be patient and practice the advice above.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your trust and I'm so excited to share this journey with you!

In good health!

*This is a correction. My previous post stated Udo's but it's actually Flora brand. The bottles look similiar!
