Egg Cream Smoothie

An egg cream smoothie is one of my favorite low carb smoothies.  This was made popular on many of the low carb forums that I have frequented and the discussions were always colorful just as many forums can be...

So many are afraid to consume raw eggs and with our current food supply, conventional supermarket eggs are not a good option for your raw egg consumption.  The food borne illness salmonella is found on the shell and not the egg itself. Raw egg yolks are actually one of the healthiest foods you can consume just be sure to choose farm fresh pastured eggs.  Local Harvest is a good website to visit to locate farm fresh foods in your local area.

I omit the egg white because this protein raw can cause some intestinal issues from discomfort to permeability.  These problems can then manifest into food allergies.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 Fresh, Organic Egg Yolks
  • 1/2 Cup Heavy Cream, Coconut Milk or Raw Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Frozen Strawberries, Raspberries
  • 1/8 tsp. Stevia
An Immersion Hand Blender is the easiest tool for this job!

Blend and enjoy!

This is a Phase II and Paleo Recipe

This egg cream smoothie recipe is quite versatile.  To change up the taste you can add a variety of flavors.

Just omit the berries and add:

  • Instant Espresso Coffee
  • Canned Pumpkin and Pumpkin Pie Spices (I would add ice cubes for flavor and consistency)
  • Peanut Butter and Banana (higher carb option)
  • Peanut Butter and Strawberries for a PBJ
