I'm 49 years old and 50 days sober.

I have pancreatitis, I also have neuropathy in my feet. I don't know how to treat these conditions and have NO help from doctors except pain meds which I cant take cause I'm an addict.

Can you help with diet suggestions

Hello Brett

First, congratulations on your sobriety. You can do this and I can help make it a bit easier for you!

Let me begin by sharing with you that there is a huge correlation between alcoholism and sugar addiction so we want to get that component under control immediately most particularly due to your current health status. If you turn to carbohydrate like so many in recovery do, you will only get worse.

Any one of my diet plans here will be incredibly helpful so choose one you believe you can live with that does not include bread, pasta or grains. This will serve you best.

It is common for addicts to have low levels of dopamine so you might try the amino acid tyrosine at 500 mg. 3x a day. Not necessary, just a suggestion. Dopamine is the "reward center" of the brain thus the need to use.

As far as your pancreatitis is concerned, you need some digestive enzymes. NOW brand makes a nice enzyme that is affordable and it is called "super enzymes". You can find these at health food stores or through my on line store. To protect the pancreas from further damage including some nice fresh raw foods is a good idea. Salads that include cucumber, red/yellow peppers, etc. These foods are high in enzymes.

I'd like to see you add coconut oil to your diet as well at 3 tbs. daily. Begin slowly as you probably also have a case of candida which is an over growth of bad bacteria. It will die off with the coconut oil and we don't want you to detox too hard. This will assist healing within of all of your organs but most particularly, the pancreas.

The neuropathy is a B Vitamin deficiency so adding a nice B 100 complex is necessary for you. You might even add methylcobalamin, a superior form of B12 for your central nervous system. The antioxidant R-Alpha Lipoic Acid will help reverse that neuropathy and I recommend about 600 mg. daily of this supplement.

We can get you propped back up my friend! Keep me posted and ask questions frequently. Should you find yourself with cravings, I'm also going to recommend L-Glutamine at about 3000 mg. daily. For a safety net, keep a capsule in your pocket and open it under the tongue for instant relief of cravings.

I wish you much success!

You are truly a wealth of information. A doctor charges a fortune for information that has no relevance to preventative medicine and you have provided all of this for free?

What a kind person you are. I wish you much success with your obvious passion.
