Adult acne / Rosacea

by Jen

Is there *anything at all* I can do to get rid of this acne/rosacea issue?

I've been fighting it for over 15 years and I'm so tired of it.

I feel like I've tried everything but there has to be something I can do. The only thing that clears it up is antibiotics and I hate, hate, hate taking them.

Thanks,
Jen

Hi Jen
Rosacea and acne are actually 2 different skin conditions.

Are you familar with the connection between rosacea and IBS? How is your digestion? This would be the first thing I would look at and grain/sugar/dairy removal would be my first step.

Adult acne can be caused by a couple of things generally diet and hormones and of course diet will affect the hormones negatively or positively with each bite.

I would recommend following the restricted regimen of phase I eliminating all dairy other than that of butter and incorporating some coconut oil as a nice fat.

You could probably also use some probiotic supplementation if you've spent any time on antibiotics recently.

Acne is also a reflection of an omega 3 deficiency, or more particularly an imbalance of omega 3 to 6 fatty acids. I'm an advocate of both Krill Oil and Cod Liver Oil supplementation.

Supplementing with up to 3000mg. of a nice fish oil daily can be quite beneficial for the acne as well, other related hormonal imbalances such as your monthly cycle.

You have an imbalance and the only thing that will make you healthier is a change in diet and supplementation.

I hope I have answered your question efficiently!

As always,
In good health
Misty
